Lawn Care
Adhering to a year-round care program is an important step in establishing and maintaining a healthy, beautiful lawn. The following lawn care program is for example purposes only.
- Winter - Adjust soil pH and spray winter weeds
- Late Winter/ Early spring - Pre emergent weed control application for summer weeds , and post emergent herbicide to control existing weeds.
- Spring / Early summer - Application of fertilizer, and spot spray any existing weeds. Another application of pre emergent herbicide may be added if part of a split program.
- Summer - applications of higher nitrogen slow release fertilizer and spot spray weeds. Iron may be added for color
- Fall - Higher potassium fertilizer application is applied to prepare your lawn for winter. Pre emergent herbicide is also applied at this time for winter annual weeds.
Tree & Shrub Care
Our ornamental tree and shrub care program includes the application of slow release fertilizers in the spring and fall . We also include insect and disease prevention and treat as necessary. The following Tree & Shrub care program is for example purposes only.
- Winter - application of dormant oil to reduce populations of scale insects, insect eggs and over-wintering insects like Aphids and Mites.
- Early Spring - application of slow release balanced fertilizer combined with a systemic insecticide.
- Summer - insect and disease treatment.
- Fall - Deep root fertilizer application of trees and shrubs to aid in winter hardiness, and enhance spring growth. Plants are monitored for Insects and disease, and treated as needed.
Aeration
Core aeration is vital to the health of your lawn. It involves removing small plugs from the soil, thus alleviating soil compaction. It helps to reduce thatch and improves root growth, and improves water penetration and oxygen exchange.
